Patchwork, Patina and Strong Temperaments

Full of power and liveliness:

The new flooring highlights from Interprint in the run-up to ‘Domotex 2010’

These floorings cannot be overlooked: décors with patchwork, used-look and applications intensify the original charm of classic wood. Perfected surface techniques ensure a clever play of colours and shapes. The laying formats, with combinations full of fantasy, are more unconventional than ever. With these innovative designs, the new Interprint flooring collection provides an ideal foundation for modern living areas.

‘English Brushed Oak’, with its strong medullary rays and distinct pores, looks like a naturally aged oak floor. A worn appearance and brushed surface reinforce the authentic vintage look. In warm, dark colours, the Interprint décor is ideally suitable for the country-house style and a classic interior. However, ‘English Brushed Oak’ also delivers surprises as a counterpart for plain, straight-line architecture.

‘Wasabi Oak’, a classic ship-deck style décor with whitewashed pores, shows much patina. The brushed and oiled oak surface radiates refreshing naturalness due to its rich-in-contrast planking. Lively wood structures, natural knot elements and varying colours create a rich picture. The décor produces a great deal of atmosphere in the home and commercial properties, especially in warm honey colours.

The ‘Amsterdam’ décor adapts a worldwide trend that has its origin in the Dutch architecture scene: Different wood strips, like oak, spruce, pine, ash and tropical wood combined into an irregular mix. The individual elements display varying degrees of weathering and signs of use. The décor also contains a colourful patchwork that leaves a modern expression. The décor can be freely cut because the individual strips have irregular sizes.

‘Wooden World Map’ shows how the beauty of naturally aged wood can be combined with innovative effects. Very old worn oak floorboards form the background. The special feature of the décor is apparent on first glance: What looks like a discolouration forms the silhouette of a world map. The creative applications can be applied in harmony with, or as a contrast to, the base colour. The spectrum ranges from natural oak to dark brown and even creative colour effects. The result is a meeting of nostalgia and modern expression.

Individuality is the predominant theme of the flooring collection presented by Interprint in the run-up to the ‘Domotex 2010’ trade fair. Design without compromise, unconventional colour combinations and great freedom in laying format play an increasingly important role on the floor. These are all areas where the Arnsberg-based company can bring its design competence to bear.
